Punjab has expanded its free public Wi-Fi service, increasing the number of hotspots in Lahore from 200 to 230 and upgrading to Wi-Fi 6 technology for enhanced speeds.
The service now operates at 300 locations across 11 districts, providing internet access to residents in key cities. So far, over 17.7 million users have utilized the network, consuming 438 terabytes of data.
Officials stress that the Wi-Fi is intended for essential use and will not support video streaming. Plans are in progress to further expand connectivity throughout the province.
