Egyptian fintech company MNT-Halan is set to inject $10 million into Pakistan as it expands its microfinance operations, with plans to establish 100 new branches across the country by the end of the year. The firm aims to serve Pakistan’s large unbanked population while promoting a shift toward digital financial services.
Originally launched in 2017 as a ride-hailing platform, MNT-Halan has since evolved into a leading fintech player. Following its acquisition of Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank in March 2024, the company now operates under Halan Microfinance Bank, which currently runs 19 branches in Sindh.
With a strong focus on growth, MNT-Halan is broadening its reach in Pakistan by offering mobile wallets, debit and credit cards, and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services. The company plans to increase its investment to $10 million by 2025 to accelerate digital transformation and drive financial inclusion.
