Saudi Arabia’s Haramain Train service set a new record by carrying 48,000 passengers in a single day during Ramadan. This high-speed rail link between Makkah and Madinah plays a crucial role in serving Umrah pilgrims and daily commuters.
To accommodate increasing demand, Saudi Railways (SAR) boosted train operations to 130 trips per day during the last 10 days of Ramadan. So far, the service has facilitated 1.6 million passengers across 3,400 journeys, ensuring a seamless travel experience for worshippers.
Since its launch in 2018, the Haramain Train has provided a fast and efficient transport option for millions of travelers. With expanded operations, it remains an essential part of Saudi Arabia’s transportation infrastructure.
