Punjab Livestock Dept Steps Up Measures Against Lumpy Skin Disease Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha
With Eid-ul-Azha approaching, the Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department is intensifying efforts to prevent the spread of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) among cattle. LSD is a viral illness that leads to fever, skin lumps, and other serious health issues in livestock.
To contain the outbreak, the department has set up checkposts across Rawalpindi district to monitor animal movement and inspect for symptoms. Farmers are being urged to report any signs of illness to nearby veterinary centers immediately.
These proactive measures aim to protect both animal health and public safety during the upcoming festival.
