Going to UAE for Work? Here’s what Pakistani Workers Need to Know:

The Pakistan Consulate in Dubai has issued a message to guide Pakistani workers in the UAE about their rights, responsibilities, and labour laws.

Work Permit & Probation:

Start work only after permit approval. Probation: 6 months; leaving early may lead to a 1-year ban.

Working Hours & Overtime:

8 hours daily, 48 weekly, 6 during Ramadan. Overtime: +25%, holidays/night: +50% pay.

Salary & Gratuity:

Salaries must be on time. Gratuity: 21 days (1–5 yrs), 30 days (5+ yrs).

Leave:

30 days annual, 90 sick, 60 maternity, 5 paternity.

Responsibilities:

Employers must provide insurance, residence, and return ticket. Employees must stay honest and disciplined.
