Pakistan has officially decided not to send its national junior hockey team to India for the upcoming Junior Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held from November 28 to December 10.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) confirmed the decision after a high-level meeting in Islamabad, citing security concerns and strained sporting ties with India as key reasons. Officials said the move followed the government’s advice not to risk players’ safety amid “hostile circumstances” across the border.
A PHF representative stated that the federation would soon notify Hockey India of its final decision. “We cannot compromise on the security of our players,” the official emphasized.
