Types of Skilled Worker Visas
Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent Visa): For skilled workers not sponsored by an employer, state, or family.
Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa): Requires nomination by a state or territory government.
Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa): For skilled workers nominated by a regional authority or sponsored by a relative in approved regional areas.
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Must be under 45 years at the time of invitation.
Occupation: Must be listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
Skills Assessment: Positive evaluation by the relevant assessing authority.
English Proficiency: Required minimum score in recognized English tests.
Work Experience: Relevant experience in the nominated occupation.
Points Test: Minimum 65 points based on age, education, experience, and English proficiency.
Health & Character: Must meet Australia’s health and character standards.
